Visiting a pumpkin patch and corn maze (ahem maize) on Sauvie Island is just one of those fall things I love about Portland. It doesn’t quite seem like October until you’ve been to a pumpkin patch. So here’s a round up of the best Portland pumpkin patches and a look at our visit to Topaz Farm. Topaz is the new Kruger’s Farm and Market on Sauvie Island, which will always have a special place in my heart!
Get ready for pumpkins, corn mazes, caramel apples, cider, hay rides and over-priced pumpkins! ;) But remind yourself that you’re supporting local farms and getting unique and interesting pumpkins.
Best Portland Pumpkin Patches:
I’m highlighting the farms that are actually in Portland, or just on the border. Jump below to see all the pumpkin patches near Portland and a map.
#1. Topaz Farm on Sauvie Island
Topaz Farm was previously Kruger Farm which is a year-round farm stand and market. And they still have a flower field as well. This is one of our favorite stops for a close to Portland day trip. In August and early September they had a sunflower maze. Starting in September, you can check out their sunflower mazes! The corn maze opens in mid-September through October 30. And the final weekend Oct 29-30 is the haunted maze.
Hours: 9am-4:30pm; Hayrides & pumpkin picking 10am-4pm Fri, Sat, Sun starting Sept 17; Corn maze daily except Mondays through Oct 30.
What: 4 pumpkin fields, corn mazes, farm animals, grill and beer garden on weekend, farm market stand.
Prices: Free to enter. Corn maze: $10 adults, $6 kids 6-12/seniors, free age 5 and under (BOGO on Tuesdays). Hayride: free. Pumpkins: varied pricing

#2. Bella Organic on Sauvie Island
Bella Organic is my usual summer favorite for berry picking! But last year, we also went for their pumpkin patch. It was pouring rain the weekend we went. But we just put rain gear on and had a great time. Our two year old went on the cow train – which is neither a train or cows. We checked out all the pumpkins and had a drink. It was a bit shorter of a visit than some years! This year, U-Pick pumpkins opens Sept 25, and the corn maze opens September 3, 2022.
Hours: 9am-6pm everyday (until 10pm on weekends) in October, Hayrides daily starting Oct 2.
What: pumpkin patch, corn mazes, cow train, farm animals, food and drinks, farm market stand.
Prices: Free to Enter. Corn maze: $8 adults ($10 weekends), $6 kids 8-12/seniors ($8 weekends), free age 5 and under, $25-35 Haunted maze. Hayride: free. Cow train: $3, Hay maze $2. Pumpkins: $ by weight
Note: Cash only. Dogs OK in regular maze, but not in haunted maze.
#3. The Pumpkin Patch on Sauvie Island
The Pumpkin Patch’s claim to fame is that they were the original patch on Sauvie island, starting in 1967. They also have a corn “maize”, which is open now!
Hours: 9am-6pm everyday (until 10pm on weekends) in October, Hayrides daily
What: pumpkin patch, corn maze, farm animal barn, hay pyramid, food and drinks, farm market stand.
Prices: Free to enter. Corn maze: $8 adults, $6 kids 6-12/seniors, free age 5 and under. Hayride: free. Pumpkins: $5 0-5lb, $7 6-9lb, and more.
Note: No Dogs.
#4. Fazio Farms in NE Portland
Fazio Farms is one of the closer in to Portland pumpkin patches. Their corn maze is shorter 3-5′ so good for kids.
Hours: 4pm-8pm weekdays, 9am-8pm weekends in October, starting Oct 2.
What: pumpkin patch, short corn maze, snack shack (no hot food), produce tent.
Prices: Corn maze: $5 age 2+ adults (maze is 3-5′ tall). Pumpkins: $ by size

#5. Plumper Pumpkin Patch in NW Portland
Plumper Pumpkin Patch is part of Plumper Tree Farm on NW Cornelius Pass Road between Forest Park and North Plains. The Plumper Pumpkin Patch opens September 17, 2022!
Hours: 9am-5:30pm everyday except Mondays/Tuesdays
What: pumpkin patch, apple and pumpkin cannons, animals, pony rides on weekends, corn maze.
Prices: 2022 $13 admission (advance purchase $15 walk-up) includes all activities but cannons and pony rides.
Note: Limited entrance, you can also reserve/buy in advance.
#6. Roloff Farm in Helvetia (Hillsboro)
Roloff Farms is another westside option. And made popular by the Roloff Family from the reality show “Little People, Big World”. They are again operating as a reservations required farm for 2022.
Hours: 10am-5:30pm Friday, Saturdays and Sundays in October
What: pumpkin patch and scenic trail walk and country store.
Prices: $27 admission ages 3+, free 2 and under. Pumpkins: $.74 a pound

#7. Lee Farms in Tualatin
Lee Farms is a SW Portland option for pumpkin patches. They are operating pumpkin patch and fall festival with activities from hay rides to mazes, big slide wagon rides and more. They open September 24.
Hours: 9am-6pm Fri-Sun, 11am-6pm Tues-Thurs in October
What: pumpkin patch, hayride, animals, and more.
Prices: $15 admission ages 3+

Sauvie Island Corn Mazes
All three Sauvie Island Pumpkin patches mentioned above have corn mazes this year. Topaz Farms, The Pumpkin Patch, and Bella Organics. They’re all about the same price $8-10, except for the haunted mazes on weekends! So pick your design. :)
Portland Pumpkin Patch Tips
- First, remember that these farms are working really hard to keep people safe, happy, and stay in business. Have some patience!
- To avoid crowds go midweek, even Fridays will be a little less busy than weekends. Or go early!
- Wear rainboots. Even if it’s not raining the day you go, if it has rained, it’s gonna be muddy.
