Fresh Cherry Tart: In Season Cooking

I never tire of summer — or summer food! I snagged some Oregon cherries in July and made a fresh cherry tart. This was the second time I’ve made cherry tart and it was equally delicious. The recipe is from an old Martha Stewart Everyday Food magazine (you can find the recipe online). The base is a typical graham cracker crust and no-bake cream cheese (“cheese cake”) combo, but what makes it so yummy is the pound of fresh cherries that you load on the top.

    I’ve made something very similar but mine is raw. I make the crust with dates and nuts and make a cashew cream on the bottom. Incredibly delicious and easy to make. But it’s the cherries that make it worth it.

    That looks delicious. My favourite dessert is cake; it’s not seasonal but OMG delicious.
